Maths is the subject where marks are most often lost to method rather than understanding. A student who knows what to do can still drop half the marks by not showing it. That is most of what we fix.
The same few things cost most students most of their marks. These are the ones we attack first.
Almost every student loses marks here, and almost none of them think it is their problem. We slow the rearranging step down deliberately until it stops happening under pressure.
A correct answer with no working scores less than a wrong answer with good working. We practise writing the steps an examiner is actually looking for.
The maths is usually easy once it is written down. The difficulty is the translation, so we drill turning a paragraph into an equation.
Carrying a rounded value through a multi-step calculation quietly costs accuracy marks. We fix the habit, not the individual question.
We work from real past papers under real timing. Marks are checked against the mark scheme rather than an opinion, so you can see exactly where a mark was awarded or lost.
AQA GCSE by default. The specifications overlap heavily, so if you are entered for Edexcel, OCR or an IGCSE board, tell us and we work from your spec and its past papers.
Tell us the exam board and year group on the enquiry form and we will match you with whichever tutor fits best.
Founder & Tutor

Sameen founded Yunalo after he began tutoring other students during his own GCSEs. He still teaches, and he set up the way Yunalo runs — lessons written up the same day, homework tracked, progress visible to parents rather than taken on trust.
Co-Administrator & Tutor
Maths · Sciences · English · History · Design & Technology · Further Maths
Maxi teaches English, History, Maths, the sciences, Design & Technology and GCSE Further Maths. He achieved Grade 9s across all ten of his GCSE and IGCSE subjects, alongside a Distinction* in Edexcel Level 2 Extended Mathematics.
Every lesson is written up the same day. You get what we covered, what went well, and the specific thing to work on next — not a tick in a box.
Homework, lesson write-ups, past-paper scores and invoices all live in a private portal. You sign in and see the whole history, rather than hunting through messages.
Online lessons take place on Zoom, using shared whiteboards or presentations where helpful. Home-based lessons are available within West Hampstead only, by arrangement and subject to tutor availability.
Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson, with no notice.

Lessons can be 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour 30 or 2 hours. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
You can cancel a lesson free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, 50% of the agreed lesson fee is payable. Your child’s wellbeing comes first: if your child is unwell, we will waive the cancellation charge, and we consider other genuine exceptional circumstances with understanding. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Personalised homework is set after most lessons and handed in through the portal. It comes back with written feedback rather than just a mark, and everything stays on record so patterns are visible over time.
