KS3 is where the gaps form that surface two years later. A student who never quite secured negative numbers in year 7 meets them again in year 10 algebra, and by then it looks like a GCSE problem.
The same few things cost most students most of their marks. These are the ones we attack first.
A student who seems bad at algebra is usually a student with an unsecured foundation underneath it. Finding that is most of the work.
Most KS3 students revise by reading. Learning to self-test now is worth more than any single topic.
KS3 is where students decide they are "not a maths person". Reversing that is much easier at 12 than at 16.
A student comfortably getting everything right is not being stretched, and it shows when GCSE starts.
We start by finding what is actually missing, which is rarely the topic the school flagged. Lessons then move between filling the gap and keeping up with class, so school work never slips while we do it.
No exam board at this stage. We work from your school’s scheme of work so lessons support what is happening in class rather than running alongside it.

Homework, lesson write-ups, past-paper scores and invoices all live in a private portal. You sign in and see the whole history, rather than hunting through messages.
Online lessons take place on Zoom, using shared whiteboards or presentations where helpful. Home-based lessons are available within West Hampstead only, by arrangement and subject to tutor availability.
Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson, with no notice.

Primary (KS2) through to GCSE and IGCSE, covering years 3 to 11. That includes KS3 across years 7 to 9.
No exam board at this stage. We work from your school’s scheme of work so lessons support what is happening in class rather than running alongside it.
Lessons can be 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour 30 or 2 hours. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
You can cancel a lesson free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, 50% of the agreed lesson fee is payable. Your child’s wellbeing comes first: if your child is unwell, we will waive the cancellation charge, and we consider other genuine exceptional circumstances with understanding. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Personalised homework is set after most lessons and handed in through the portal. It comes back with written feedback rather than just a mark, and everything stays on record so patterns are visible over time.
