At primary level the goal is rarely a grade. It is a child who is not anxious about maths, and who arrives at secondary school able to keep up with the pace.
The same few things cost most students most of their marks. These are the ones we attack first.
Slow recall of times tables makes everything built on top of it feel hard. It is worth fixing directly.
Children who can do the calculation often cannot find it inside a sentence. That is a separate, teachable skill.
Once a child decides they are bad at maths, they stop trying and the belief confirms itself. Small early wins break it.
Decoding fluently is not the same as understanding. Comprehension needs its own practice.
Sessions are shorter in feel and more varied than GCSE lessons, because attention is the limiting factor. Parents get the same written summary after every lesson, so you know what was covered and what to reinforce.

Sameen founded Yunalo after he began tutoring other students during his own GCSEs. He still teaches, and he set up the way Yunalo runs — lessons written up the same day, homework tracked, progress visible to parents rather than taken on trust.
Every lesson is written up the same day. You get what we covered, what went well, and the specific thing to work on next — not a tick in a box.
Homework, lesson write-ups, past-paper scores and invoices all live in a private portal. You sign in and see the whole history, rather than hunting through messages.
Online lessons take place on Zoom, using shared whiteboards or presentations where helpful. Home-based lessons are available within West Hampstead only, by arrangement and subject to tutor availability.
Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson, with no notice.

Primary (KS2) through to GCSE and IGCSE, covering years 3 to 11. That includes KS3 across years 7 to 9.
No exam board. We work from your child’s school curriculum, and towards KS2 SATs where relevant.
Lessons can be 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour 30 or 2 hours. Longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
You can cancel a lesson free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, 50% of the agreed lesson fee is payable. Your child’s wellbeing comes first: if your child is unwell, we will waive the cancellation charge, and we consider other genuine exceptional circumstances with understanding. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Personalised homework is set after most lessons and handed in through the portal. It comes back with written feedback rather than just a mark, and everything stays on record so patterns are visible over time.
